Process

The Awards Committee
The Awards Committee consists of seven members; six members of the Oro Valley Police Department and one member from the Chief’s Advisory Council. On the committee, the following employment areas are represented: patrol officers, sergeants, records unit, volunteer unit, command staff, communications bureau and administration staff.

The Nomination Process
Any member of the Oro Valley Police Department, on behalf of another member, may submit an award nomination using the nomination form.

The Awards Ceremony
The Oro Valley Police Department awards ceremony will be held in a formal setting at a location of the Award Committee’s choosing. Members of the Oro Valley Police Department will be recognized with awards. Officers that have completed their probationary period will be eligible for service medals and challenge coins.
