ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (August 11, 2023) – On Monday, August 14, the Town of Oro Valley will begin construction of a new Multi-use Path (MUP) on the west side of La Cañada Drive, between Naranja Drive and Lambert Lane. The new MUP will stretch from the Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center, south to Cañada Hills Drive. To accommodate construction, the right lane on southbound La Cañada Drive will be closed during construction, and speed will be reduced to 25 mph. Construction is expected to last until Friday, October 20, weather permitting.

For the duration of construction, the lane closure will be in place 24/7. Message boards have been placed ahead of the closure to remind drivers to merge to the left lane and slow down. Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the construction area and are encouraged to find alternative routes to avoid delays.

Once construction is finished, the MUP will improve recreational safety and access for Oro Valley residents. The Town of Oro Valley appreciates your patience as we work to construct a new Multi-use Path. For questions regarding the project or construction, please contact Fernando Redo at 520-229-4892 or fredo@orovalleyaz.gov.
