National Procurement Month

WHEREAS, public procurement professionals in the Town of Oro Valley and other public and private organizations have tremendous influence on economic conditions in the United States, with accumulative purchasing power running into the billions of dollars; and

WHEREAS, National Institute of Governmental Purchasing known as the Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP), has designated the month of March as Procurement Month to expand awareness of the purchasing professional’s role to governmental officials, the public, business and corporate leaders; and

WHEREAS, in addition to purchasing goods and services, procurement enhances the organization by executing and cultivating working relationships between suppliers and departments within the Town of Oro Valley; and

WHEREAS, Professional Buyer’s Day on March 13th is the day we highlight the purchasing professional’s role and their economic impact.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Joseph C. Winfield, Mayor of Oro Valley, do hereby proclaim the month of March 2024 as

NATIONAL PROCUREMENT MONTH
