ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Oct. 7, 2021) – The Town of Oro Valley is offering a fun-filled October with many family-friendly Halloween events returning. With multiple days and various interests, there is something ghoulish for everyone, so mark your calendars now!

MONSTER MASH

Date: Friday, Oct. 8

Location: Steam Pump Ranch (10901 North Oracle Road)

Time: 5-8 p.m.

Don’t miss this Halloween-themed event, at the fun and spooky 1870’s Steam Pump Ranch! There will be a pumpkin decorating station, cartoon-themed spooky maze, jumping castles and a scary movie scavenger hunt. Halloween crafts and candy booths will be hosted by local organizations. Please be sure to purchase your all-inclusive ticket for $5 at PlayOV.com or by clicking here. In addition to the Monster Mash, On Your Left Fitness will host a spooky 5k/10k run (fee applies). Children 12 and under can run for free in a costumed fun run. There will be lots of great prizes so make sure you register by visiting this link.

 

HAUNTED HAYRIDES

Dates: Saturdays Oct. 9, 16, 23 & 30

Location: Steam Pump Ranch (10901 North Oracle Road)

Time: 7-9:30 p.m. (Oct. 9, 16, 23), 7-8:30 p.m. (Oct. 30)

Join us for one of the most unique Halloween experiences in Southern Arizona! Watch the dead come to life right before your eyes at Steam Pump Ranch. Local and southwest ghost stories will be narrated and acted out along a hayride route through the ranch property. $5 tickets are still available at PlayOV.com or by clicking here. Riders ages 3 and under do not require a ticket and must ride on the lap of a paying rider. Please note that the hayride may be a little too spooky for very young children. Parental discretion is advised.

 

HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR

Date: Friday, Oct. 29

Location: Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center (10555 North La Cañada Drive)

Time: 5-8 p.m.

The Spooktacular is back at the Oro Valley Community & Recreation Center! This Halloween themed event features games, crafts and a trick or treat lane hosted by local businesses giving away candy! A DJ will keep the beats going as kids have fun as their favorite costumed characters. Event and candy are free. Food and beverages (including alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available to purchase. Interested in having your business participate with a trunk or treat golf cart? Due to limited parking at the Community Center, the Town is asking visitors to park at the Oro Valley Town Hall parking lot (11000 North La Cañada Drive) and walk over to the event. For added safety measures, the intersection light at La Cañada Drive and the Community Center will be set to blinking red to allow Oro Valley Police to direct pedestrians and traffic. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to use caution and follow traffic commands from OVPD during the event. Please see the attached map at the end of this release, which shows the walking route from Town Hall to the event location.

 

MONSTERS AT THE MOVIES: TEEN ONLY MOVIE NIGHT

Date: Saturday, Oct. 30

Location: Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center (10555 North La Cañada Drive)

Time: 7-9 p.m.

Halloween is a perfect time to watch a scary movie, and this event for teenagers is free! The movie, Lights Out, will be projected onto a big screen at the Community Center driving range. This event hosted by Oro Valley’s Youth Advisory Council will also have free pizza. Youth ages 13-19 are invited to attend. Come for the pizza and movie, leave a little spooked! Lights Out is rated PG-13 for terror throughout, violence including disturbing images and some thematic material.
