Crime and Safety Information

Police Beats

The Town of Oro Valley is divided into four (4) police beats to determine workload and crime statistics. The size and boundary of each beat is determined by the historical data of calls for service and geographic factors. One or more patrol officers may be assigned to each beat at any time of the day. Each patrol officer is assigned a beat and is responsible for calls for service and community related activities in that beat.

Crime Prevention

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

A series of design strategies to beautify a proposed development considering safety concerns. Trained officers utilize a concept known as CPTED to examine new building projects as they are presented to the Development Review Committee. Officers provide recommendations about how builders can plan projects to deter or prevent crime before it becomes an issue. For further information please contact at Ofc.
