Jan works in the medium of acrylic, watercolor and pastel. Starting as a representational artist, her love of self expression in 'abstract mixed media' has evolved to enjoying the use of color, texture, and form in a new imaginative way. She feels there is a strong element of 'magic' and 'originality' in making art and hopes it is impressed upon the viewer in the same way.

Alexandra Terleckyj was born during the Second World War, in Lviv, Ukraine. Just like many others, her family ended up in post war Germany. In 1949, her family emigrated to the United States and resided in Philadelphia, PA. Alexandra attended grade school by the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Franklin Street.

Growing up on Cape Cod, in MA, I always had a love of nature and color. Forty years ago I moved to Tucson, after the Blizzard of ’78, for a warmer, snow free climate. I do miss my ocean, but I fell in love with our Sonoran Desert, the blue sky, gorgeous sunsets, the plants, and animals.
