Monsoon Season: Free sandbags for residents begin June 15

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (June 11, 2025) – Monsoon season is officially here, and the Town of Oro Valley wants to make sure residents are prepared and protected. As part of its annual monsoon readiness efforts, the Town will once again provide free self-service sandbags to Oro Valley residents who may need to safeguard their property from storm runoff.

Beginning Sunday, June 15, sandbags will be available through September 30, or while supplies last. Pickup is located in Naranja Park (810 W. Naranja Drive) on the east side of Musette Drive. Look for signs approximately 1,000 feet north of the Naranja Park entrance on Naranja Drive. See map below or click here to learn more.

The sandbag lot is accessible daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. This is a self-service station. Residents must bring their own shovel and be prepared to fill and load their own sandbags. Bags and sand will be provided. Due to limited supply, distribution is limited to ten sandbags per vehicle, and only Oro Valley residents are eligible.
