Celebrate National Men's Health Month with Oro Valley
Published on June 06, 2019
National Men's Health Month is about more than just the health of men. A man's health has a tremendous impact on those around him, including spouses, children, colleagues and friends. The family unit is healthy when each member is healthy. And that's why this month we're celebrating Men's Health and the many ways the entire family can take an active role in health and wellness.

At last night's Town Council meeting, Mayor Joe Winfield proclaimed June 2019 to be Men's Health Month. Part of his proclamation reads, "Whereas, men who are educated about the value that preventive health can play in prolonging their lifespan and their role as productive family members will be more likely to participate in health screenings."
To mark the occasion, the Town of Oro Valley is offering free admission on Sunday, June 16, to the following facilities during normal business hours:
-
Oro Valley Community Center fitness area, 10555 N. La Cañada Drive
-
Oro Valley Aquatic Center, 23 W. Calle Concordia
-
Naranja Park Archery Range, 810 W. Naranja Drive
Regardless of your gender, age or fitness level, we hope you will join us on free admission day.
If you can't make it on June 16, don't worry, the Oro Valley Parks and Recreation Department has planned some other free events at Steam Pump Ranch (10901 N. Oracle Road) in June!
