Steam Pump Ranch

Residents of the Santa Cruz Valley in Southern Arizona often view the Town of Oro Valley as a vibrant and youthful community. Yet the area is rooted in a much deeper history, and Steam Pump Ranch stands as a remarkable living testament to that past.

Since being purchased by the Town in 2008, the 16-acre property has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the years since, its historic buildings have undergone extensive rehabilitation to preserve their character and expand public access. Today, Steam Pump Ranch offers visitors the chance to explore the stories, architecture, and landscape that helped shape Oro Valley.

The ranch also provides a charming and affordable venue for weddings. Its blend of historic desert ranch aesthetics, open green spaces, and picturesque mountain views creates a warm and memorable setting for couples. With flexible outdoor areas and budget-friendly options, it is an inviting place for both intimate ceremonies and larger celebrations.

The Oro Valley Historical Society offers guided tours of the Pusch House Museum and the ranch grounds on Saturdays during the Heirloom Farmers Market. These hands-on experiences bring the region’s history to life, with museum exhibits that rotate monthly to ensure there is always something new to discover.

The grounds are open to the public from sunrise to sunset, with office hours in the restored Garage Building held Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Heirloom Farmers Market is hosted onsite every Saturday, and from October through April, the Town of Oro Valley presents Second Saturday events in conjunction with the market. Throughout the year, Steam Pump Ranch is home to a variety of community gatherings and special events. For details on upcoming activities, please visit the Parks and Recreation homepage.
