The Town of Oro Valley announced today that it has posted an informational video on the Town’s website to kick off public outreach for a proposed annexation, General Plan amendment and rezoning. In accordance with the Town’s Annexation Strategy, the Town has invited the Westward Look Resort to consider annexation into Oro Valley.  There are no other properties included in this potential annexation.

The proposed General Plan amendment and rezoning are requests from a property owner to develop their private property. The owners of Westward Look seek zoning to recognize the existing resort facility and open space next to the Westward Look Guest Ranches; and potential for new development adjacent to Ina Road.

The proposal is:

·         Westward Look proposed Annexation, General Plan Amendment and Rezoning  (Case#: 2000844)

o   Description: The applicant is proposing annexation into the Town of Oro Valley, General Plan amendment and rezoning for the Westward Look Resort & Spa.

o   Visit www.OVProjects.com, click on the yellow “General Plan Amendments” button and then scroll down/select “Westward Look proposed General Plan Amendment and Rezoning.”

A web-based interactive Zoom neighborhood meeting for this project will be held on Tuesday, September 15, at 6 p.m. Typically, an in-person neighborhood meeting is held prior to formal submittal of a General Plan amendment and/or rezoning application. With the ongoing COVID-19 social distancing requirements, alternative methods are necessary and the best solution under the existing circumstances. The Zoning Code enables the Planning and Zoning Administrator to approve alternative methods of public outreach when warranted.
