The Town of Oro Valley announced today that it has posted an informational video on the Town’s website to kick off public outreach for a proposed rezoning of the Church of the Nazarene property – a property located on the northeast corner of the Calle Concordia and Calle Buena Vista intersection.

The property owner’s proposed rezoning is a Planned Area Development for the expansion of church uses and athletic facilities at the Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene. The informational video for this proposed rezoning can be viewed here or by copying and pasting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K25rRpNfeMI into your web browser.

Visit www.OVProjects.com for more information about this project—Case #2001456.

This is a request to rezone private property, and the Town must process all applications. The zoning establishes the entitlement, or right, to rezone the property. This project will be considered by the Oro Valley Planning & Zoning Commission and Town Council upon completion of the neighborhood meeting and staff technical review process.

A web-based interactive Zoom neighborhood meeting for this project will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 6 p.m. Typically an in-person neighborhood meeting is held prior to formal submittal of a General Plan amendment and/or rezoning application. With the ongoing COVID-19 social distancing requirements, alternative methods are necessary and the best solution under the existing circumstances. The Zoning Code enables the Planning and Zoning Administrator to approve alternative methods of public outreach when warranted.
