The Town of Oro Valley has scheduled a second fireworks test launch for Sunday, June 7 at 8:30 p.m. This fireworks test will take place at Naranja Park, which will close at 7 p.m. on Sunday for safety purposes. No onsite spectators will be allowed in the park during the fireworks launch test nor at the July 4th fireworks show. Residents are encouraged to view the test launch from home to find a good vantage point where they can kick back and enjoy the fireworks show on July 4th.

After the first test on Thursday, May 28, Parks and Recreation staff determined there was a need for greater visibility of the fireworks, and working with the pyrotechnic vendor decided to include larger shell sizes in the show, from three and four-inch sized shells up to six-inch shells. The six-inch shells—which soar 500’ in the air—should increase the visibility of the fireworks across Oro Valley. The bigger shells necessitated a move from the Community and Recreation Center to Naranja Park.
