Moore/La Cañada roundabout opening delayed due to heavy rains

Published on November 19, 2019

The Town of Oro Valley has revised the completion date for the Moore Road/La Cañada Drive roundabout. Due to expected heavy rainfall, the reopening of the intersection will not occur until the afternoon of Wednesday, November 27. The contractor, Borderland Construction, had been on schedule to meet the November 22 completion date, but the rain will delay the lane striping for the intersection. The contractor must wait until the storm has passed through the area and the intersection dries in order for paint to be applied to stripe the intersection. Based on the anticipated duration of the wet weather, the Town estimates that striping will take place on November 25 and 26, and following clean up of the construction site, the roundabout will open on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 27. The schedule for reopening at this point is entirely weather dependent.

Please be advised: until the barricades are removed the Moore/La Cañada intersection remains closed to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.

The Town has produced a short educational video on how to use the Moore/La Cañada roundabout, which can be viewed here.
