FREE Halloween-themed events all month long in Oro Valley

Did you know the Town of Oro Valley has not one, but FIVE Halloween-themed events this October? With multiple days and various interests, there is something for everyone, so mark your calendars now! NEW! HAUNTED HAYRIDES
New this year are the Friday Night Haunted Hayrides at Steam Pump Ranch, 10901 N. Oracle Road. Watch the dead come to life right before your very eyes, as this hayride takes you on a haunted journey of mayhem and spooky local folklore! Rides are free, but donations gladly accepted. Please note that the hayride may be a little too spooky for very young children. Parental discretion is advised.

MONSTER MASH & 5K
Date: Friday, October 5, 2018
Time: 5:30 - 9 p.m.
Location: Steam Pump Ranch, 10901 N. Oracle Road

Description: Activities include a scary movie scavenger hunt, creepy carnival games, pumpkin decorating, food trucks, photo booth and a haunted hayride. (This event is a little spookier than the Oct. 26 Halloween Spooktacular, and may be more suitable for older kids.)

For the runners and walkers out there, the Town of Oro Valley has once again partnered with On Your Left Fitness to offer "Not Just Another 5K," beginning at 6 p.m. Fee is $35. Costumes are encouraged! Register at: https://runsignup.com/Race/AZ/OroValley/MonsterMashRun

A free Fun Run for children will begin at 5:30 p.m.

ZOMBIE SHOOT AT THE ARCHERY RANGE
Date: Saturday, October 20, 2018
Time: 8 - 11 a.m.    
Location: Oro Valley Archery Range at Naranja Park, 810 W. Naranja Drive

Description: Free archery event with zombie targets on the fixed range, pumpkin shooting, and a 14-target, 3D fun shoot on the west walking course. Shooters must be at least eight years old. Please bring your own bows and arrows. (No crossbows.)

DOGGIE DASH "˜N DAWDLE
Date: Saturday, October 20, 2018
Time: 5 - 8 p.m.
Location: Riverfront Park, 551 W. Lambert Lane

Description: This all-ages event is part dog festival and part run/walk. The festival is free, and includes crafts, a dog costume contest, training demos and free dog stuff. Runners and walkers have the option of a one- or two-mile race with their four-legged friends. Races begin at 5:30 p.m. Registration for the race is just $10 in advance (by Oct. 12), and $15 through race day. Your fee includes a Doggie Dash "˜n Dawdle souvenir, giveaways and a medal. HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR
Date: Friday, October 26, 2018
Time: 5 - 8 p.m.  
Location: Oro Valley Community Center, 10555 N. La Cañada Drive
Audience: Family-friendly. (This event is designed especially for young children.)

Description: Free activities include games, hayrides, costumes, trick-or-treating down Candy Cart Lane and much more. Enjoy costumed staff and a live DJ. Food will be available for purchase.
