There are more than 250 volunteers who donate thousands of hours of time each year to make sure Oro Valley remains a community of excellence. Click each link to learn more about each volunteer group and how you can get involved.

Adopt-A-Programs

Volunteers help with the upkeep and beautification of our community, as well as the maintenance of our trails and washes with the Adopt-A-Roadway, Adopt-A-Trail and Adopt-A-Wash programs. To learn more about Keep OV Beautiful, click here.

Boards and Commissions

Oro Valley Boards and Commissions create an opportunity for residents to be active in Town Government. Appointed members serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and Town Council. For more information about each Board and Commission and the application process, click here.

Citizen Volunteer Assistants Program (CVAP)

Community policing is foundational to public safety in Oro Valley, and that is due—in no small part—to the volunteerism within the Oro Valley Police Department. The Citizen Volunteer Assistants Program (CVAP) is an essential part of the daily operations at OVPD. Volunteers help with fingerprinting, traffic control during special events or major crashes and Dispose-A-Med events to name a few. To fill out an application form, click here.

Parks and Recreation Volunteers

Parks and Recreation volunteers gain quality experience working in a Parks and Recreation environment while making a direct impact to the community. Volunteer positions are available at the Community Center, Archery Range and Steam Pump Ranch. Outdoor opportunities, such as Environmental Stewards and Phenology Trail volunteers are also available. To apply, please click this link. To volunteer for special events, please click here. For youth volunteer opportunities (ages 13 and older), click here.

Regional Groups

Sometimes, volunteerism goes beyond Town limits, and volunteers work to ensure communication and collaboration with other jurisdictions and organizations. Regional groups include the Pima County Bond Advisory Subcommittee, the RTA Citizens Accountability Committee, the RTA Environmental Planning Advisory Committee and the Tucson/Pima Bicycle Advisory. If you would like to learn more about these groups, you can call the Oro Valley Town Clerk's Office at 520-229-4700.

Youth Advisory Council

Members of the Youth Advisory Council work to bridge age gaps in the Oro Valley community and serve as a voice for youth in the Town of Oro Valley government. The council is a diverse group of youth advocates from several high schools in Oro Valley. To learn more about the requirements and to apply, click here.
