Mickey discovered a love for drawing at a very early age. He was asked by a neighbor to paint a Donald Duck mural on the wall of her apartment. He brought Donald to life. She loved it and he loved doing it. He had no lessons, no training, just an innate ability.

Mickey's successful career as a building contractor and developer incorporated his aptitude for architectural design with his flair for style. This combination of talents eventually led to his artistic style of controlled abstract art. Mickey expresses his art through geometric forms, texture, flowing images and almost always, the use of vibrant color. He doesn't use studies or sketches. He begins painting immediately on the canvas, usually starting at the center and continuing with the direction his paintbrush takes him.
He derives a great deal of pleasure listening to people analyze his paintings. When asked about his message, he answers: "I lay the foundation and build the framework and you are encouraged to enjoy and decide what you see."
Mickey takes the artistic liberty of signing his paintings Micford.
Micford's art is painted with archival oil on canvas. He works with an art coach. He has shown at the Jewish Community Center, Tucson International Airport, Skyline Country Club, and several banks, restaurants, and libraries.
Micford invites you to observe, absorb and enjoy.
