Double Fatal Crash in Oro Valley

Published on November 13, 2019

On November 13, 2019, at approximately 3:42 p.m., Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) responded to Shannon Road and Sahuaro Divide for a report of a multi-vehicle collision. When officers arrived on scene they discovered a three vehicle collision involving an Acura Integra, GMC Sierra and a Buick Le Sabre. There were two occupants in the Acura Integra and they were pronounced deceased on scene. The driver, and sole occupant of the GMC Sierra, was transported with non-life threatening injuries. The driver, and sole occupant of the Buick Le Sabre, refused transport.

The investigation is ongoing, but at this time it appears the Acura was northbound Shannon preparing to make a westbound turn onto Sahuaro Divide when it was rear-ended by the Buick. This crash pushed the Acura into the path of the GMC Sierra which was traveling south on Shannon.

Although the crash was close to a local high school, it did not involve any students. The cause of the crash is still under investigation but impairment does not appear to be a factor at this time. OVPD will release the names of the deceased once next of kin is completed.
