Alert: Naranja Drive closed at Sawtooth Road due to water main break

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Oct. 20, 2025) – Due to a water main break and resulting roadway damage, the Town of Oro Valley has closed Naranja Drive in both directions at Sawtooth Road, between La Cañada Drive and First Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes while crews complete repairs.

The Town’s Water Utility staff responded quickly overnight to isolate the break and begin repairs. Crews are replacing a damaged 12-inch main and restoring the affected roadway.

Repairs and roadway restoration are expected to take approximately two weeks, depending on weather and material conditions.

A small number of nearby customers experienced temporary water service interruptions, which have since been restored.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead, reduce speeds near the work zone, and follow posted detours for the safety of crews and drivers. Digital message boards are in place to mark the closure for drivers currently on the road.
