Steam Pump Ranch

Residents of the Santa Cruz Valley in Southern Arizona generally perceive the Town of Oro Valley as a vigorous young community. In reality, very deep history exists in this region. Steam Pump Ranch represents a living piece of that history.

Since being purchased by the Town in 2008, the 16-acre property has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Steam Pump Ranch buildings have undergone significant rehabilitation for preservation and public access.

Steam Pump Ranch grounds are open to the public from sunrise to sunset with office hours in the restored Garage Building Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The Heirloom Farmers Market takes place on the premises every Saturday, and Town of Oro Valley hosts Second Saturday events alongside the Heirloom Farmers Market from October through April. Many special events and community events take place at the ranch throughout the year. Please visit the Parks and Recreation homepage for more information on upcoming events.

Friday Night Concerts at Steam Pump Ranch

The Town of Oro Valley’s historic Steam Pump Ranch (SPR) is proud to offer a Friday Night Concert Series on select first and last Fridays throughout the year. See the Parks & Recreation Event Calendar for specific dates and details. The concerts are family-friendly with food trucks, activities on the lawn for children, and lots of fun. Steam Pump Ranch rests at the foot of Pusch Ridge with a truly awesome backdrop of the Catalina Mountains. What a wonderful atmosphere for the Friday Night Concerts!

Our newly restored Barbeque (BBQ) building patio serves as an open-air stage for the band. We invite you to come and enjoy the Friday night concerts at the Ranch. We recommend arriving early to select your favorite area. Some picnic tables and chairs are available, but bringing your own blanket or chairs will assure you have your ideal seating.
