ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Nov.18, 2022) – The Town of Oro Valley won a “Celebrating Innovation in the Workplace: Technology and Process Improvement” award from the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson (SHRM-GT) for OV Peak Performance, an internal employee program, aimed at improving daily operations, organizational efficiency and customer experiences in the Town of Oro Valley.

Introduced in 2018, OV Peak Performance is a process improvement method based on Lean Six Sigma, a fact-based, data-driven philosophy of improvement utilized worldwide by organizations big and small, from local governments to companies like Honeywell and Amazon. Led by the Innovation and Technology Department, OV Peak Performance has created a culture of continuous improvement that empowers employees across the organization to creatively solve problems and identify inefficiencies. In fiscal year 2021/2022 alone, Town employees implemented 29 process improvement initiatives and saved over $119,000 on estimated time and materials.

“My team and I are very excited to receive this award for the work the Town of Oro Valley has put into continuous improvement,” said Chief Innovation Officer Chuck Boyer. “We are just getting started on our Peak Performance journey, and we are looking forward to continued success.”
