Town of Oro Valley announces pavement preservation schedule

The Town of Oro Valley has scheduled pavement preservation work on various pavement sections within Town limits beginning in mid-April and running through late May. To view the project page for the Town’s 2019/2020 surface treatments, click here.

“Pavement preservation is vital to the Town’s infrastructure, and the Public Works Department has not missed a beat as we continue to complete projects during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said Director of Public Works/Town Engineer Paul Keesler.

Please note that the project dates listed below are approximate and are subject to change, due to field conditions, availability of materials and crew, and the global pandemic, etc. The Town’s 2019/2020 surface treatments include:

Pusch View Lane mill and overlay – Project OV30 19/20 04
Project includes removal of damaged pavement and replacement with new pavement on Pusch View Lane, beginning at the Cañada del Oro River bridge and extending east to Oracle Road. Please be advised that lanes will be restricted during this project. There may be delays and the public should plan accordingly.
Contractor: Granite Construction
Estimated start date: April 20, 2020
Estimated completion date: April 24, 2020

Surface Treatment (HA-5 Treatment) – Project OV30 19/20 05
Application of HA-5 treatment to various locations around the Town. HA-5 is a high-density mineral bond, which is a pavement preservation treatment that significantly extends the life and quality of streets in desert climates. Locations include: CDO multi-use path; Colony at Oro Valley, Copper Creek 1, Blocks H-1, N, and Phase 2; Copper Creek 2; Horizon Heights & Oro Valley Townhomes; Lambert Trailhead parking lot; Limewood Drive; Linda Vista Trailhead parking lot, Rancho Vistoso NH10, Parcels O-P and Q-R; Verde Catalina Townhomes, Vistoso Park Road, Town Hall Parking Lot.  Click here for a complete list of locations and maps. Estimated completion date: mid-May, 2020

2019/2020 Surface Treatments, Phase III – Project OV30 19/20 08
Application of a stress absorbing membrane (SAM) and fog seal, establishment of new parking lot, removal and replacement of pothole repair at various locations around the Town. This project has been ongoing since fall 2019 due to the temperature and field conditions required for the material’s application. Locations include: Greenspun, Hidden Springs.
Contractor: Sunland Asphalt
Estimated start date: late September, 2019
Estimated completion date: late May, 2020

La Cholla Boulevard update
On Monday, April 13, a temporary four-way stop was installed at the Lambert Lane/La Cholla Boulevard intersection. This is temporary traffic control as the contractor on the project removes existing traffic signal and installs the permanent traffic signal. This work will take approximately six weeks.

La Cholla Boulevard between Lambert Lane and Overton Road is scheduled to reopen to through traffic on Wednesday, April 22.
