ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (April 28, 2022) – The Town of Oro Valley is excited to announce the launch of a new Community and Economic Development website that serves as a one-stop resource for site selectors and current and future Oro Valley businesses. The website, chooseorovalley.com, was announced yesterday during the Oro Valley Economic Outlook and Spring Business Expo, presented by the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce at El Conquistador Tucson, a Hilton Resort.

The new site streamlines the business development process and increases the speed of development-related decisions by providing site selectors direct access to available sites ready for new construction, vacant buildings identified for adaptive reuse, local and regional workforce for clusters and zoning and development costs and incentives. Additionally, the website serves as an economic development event calendar, and it showcases the quality of life and key industries that make Oro Valley the community of excellence that it is. “It’s been an amazing year of progress for the Town of Oro Valley regarding economic development and business support,” said Paul Melcher, Community and Economic Development Director. “Building on the successes of the first Annual Business Summit, transitioning to OVNextSteps, and commissioning the Entrepreneurial Needs Study, launching chooseorovalley.com provides site selectors, primary employers, and small businesses instant access to Town-related data and development information.”

Another highlight of yesterday’s Economic Outlook event included guest speakers from Leonardo Electronics, Vice President of Business Operations Graeme Creamer and Senior Vice President Prabhu Thiagarajan. Leonardo Electronics is building a 120,00 square foot semiconductor laser facility in Oro Valley’s Innovation Park, which will create 170 jobs over five years.
