ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (April 17, 2023) – The Town of Oro Valley Town Manager’s Recommended Budget for fiscal year 2023/24 is now available online. Click here to view the budget document in its entirety.

This budget totals $147.9 million, representing an increase of $184,934, or one-tenth of one percent more than the adopted FY 22/23 budget of $147.7 million. The General Fund budget totals $56 million, a 5.5% increase from the FY 22/23 budget of $53.1 million.

This budget reflects the priorities of the current and upcoming Council Strategic Plans. Notable items in the budget include funding for roads, water and Town assets, land use design, and financial stability and sustainability for an inflationary economy. The budget process involves the prudent allocation of resources across Town operations to continue and improve the high service levels Oro Valley residents expect in order to live, work, play and prosper in our community.

Budget process public participation opportunities
As part of the budget process, the following public meetings will be held at Council Chambers (11000 N. La Cañada Drive). The public is invited to stay informed and participate in the process.

  • May 10 at 5 p.m. – Council Budget Study Session #1
  • May 11 at 5 p.m. – Council Budget Study Session #2
  • June 7 at 6 p.m. – Public Hearing and tentative budget adoption
  • June 21 at 6 p.m. – Public Hearing and final budget adoption

The Town of Oro Valley offers two options to speak during a Public Hearing. The first option is for speakers who attend the meeting in-person. They can fill out a blue card (located on the table at the back of the Council Chambers), and give the card to the Town Clerk. The second option is to speak “virtually” via Zoom, which requires registration at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting by filling out a virtual speaker card. Links to register for a virtual speaker card will be included in each meeting’s agenda, which is posted to the Town’s website one week in advance. More information about the virtual speaker card can be found here. To access the Town’s meetings and agenda webpage, click here. Anyone who is unable to attend a meeting but would still like to provide input on the budget document may submit comments via email to ask@orovalleyaz.gov.
