ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (April 23, 2024) – The Town of Oro Valley thanks everyone who attended or participated in our recent 50th anniversary parade and event!

On back-to-back Saturdays this month, the Town of Oro Valley celebrated its 50th anniversary with a parade along Naranja Drive on April 6 and a community celebration event at James D. Kriegh Park on April 13. View photos from each event on the Town of Oro Valley’s Facebook page.

Parade Recap

More than 90 community groups, businesses and residents participated in the 50th parade procession, and many spectators came out to show love and support for the community!

Parade participants included: the Canyon del Oro High School marching band, CDO pom line, Ironwood Ridge High School spirit line, local dance troops, youth sports teams, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, local churches, Oro Valley Mayor and Councilmembers, and many local businesses. Community Celebration Recap

It was a beautiful day for a 50th celebration event at the park, complete with jumping castles, food trucks, community performances, fireworks and event headliner Voyager—Arizona’s best Journey cover band.

Community performances included: Erika and Nico, Garett James and the Wanderers, Chalako the Band, Centre Stage Dance Studio, DC and Company, Maguire Academy of Irish Dance, the Wize Guyz, Kids Unlimited, the BD Boys, and Frank!-Powers.

This month, 50 years ago, the Town of Oro Valley was officially incorporated on April 15, 1974, and the first Town Council was appointed on April 17, 1974.
