ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Feb. 2, 2026) – The Town of Oro Valley has enlisted the help of Roadway Asset Services (RAS) to inventory the condition of all roads maintained by the Town. The project kicks off this week and will conclude late next week.
During that time, Oro Valley residents may see an RAS van driving through the area during daylight hours. These vans (pictured) have a rooftop digital camera that will collect imagery of all Town-managed pavement and transportation-related assets located within the public right-of-way. Imagery collected by the vans will be provided to the Town of Oro Valley so that staff can assess street conditions and update the Town’s Pavement Preservation Program.
“Oro Valley continues to have the best roads in the region because we take a proactive approach to pavement management,” said Town Manager Jeff Wilkins. “This comprehensive road condition inventory enables us to remain proactive as we work to update our pavement management plan.” Funding for the inventory project comes from Highway User Revenue Funds.
