Registration now open for Oro Valley's 28th annual Community Academy

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Sept. 17, 2025) – Registration is now open for Oro Valley’s 28th Annual Community Academy, a free nine-class series designed to connect residents with their community and provide an inside look at how the Town operates.

Whether you’ve participated before or are joining for the first time, this program offers a fun way to meet your neighbors, discover more about Oro Valley and engage in proactive discussions on the Town’s essential services. This year’s program also features new classes on tourism and water.

This highly interactive program will feature topics like the community’s next 10-year action plan, development, traffic, Town finances, parks, public safety, water conservation, and more.

Program details:

  • Dates: Oct. 2 – Nov. 5
  • Time: 6 – 8 p.m.
  • Location: Oro Valley Town Hall, 11000 N. La Cañada Dr.
  • Format: In-person preferred; online participation available

Class schedule:

  • Oct. 2: Welcome to Oro Valley: A view of Oro Valley today and into the future
  • Oct. 9: OV's Path Forward: 10-year community action plan
  • Oct. 14: Maintaining Financial Stability and Services
  • Oct. 16: Economic Development and Tourism
  • Oct. 21: Parks, Recreation and Trails
  • Oct. 23: Development and Roadways
  • Oct. 28: Water Resource Planning
  • Oct. 30: Water Conservation at Home
  • Nov. 3: Public Safety: OVPD and Town Courts

Participants who attend at least half of the classes will be eligible to graduate. The graduation ceremony, featuring a celebratory dinner and certificate of recognition, will take place during the Town Council meeting on Nov. 5, 2025. Many graduates go on to serve on Town boards, commissions or the resident working group for OV’s Path Forward.
