Kick off 2025 by participating in Oro Valley’s Hot Cocoa 5K, Jan. 1

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Dec. 17, 2024) – It's not too late to register for the eleventh annual Hot Cocoa 5K Run/Walk on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025! The race will take place along the multi-use path, beginning at Steam Pump Ranch, and will include post-race snacks, water, giveaways, and of course, hot cocoa.

This is a professionally timed race, and prizes will be awarded to winners in the overall male and female, masters male and female, and ten-year age group categories. Proceeds from the race will benefit Oro Valley’s Round Up for Youth Recreation Scholarship program.

Also featuring a pizza lunch, kids’ crafts, and an obstacle course from Body Fit Training (BFT) — the Hot Cocoa 5k is an event you won’t want to miss!

5K RUN/WALK DETAILS

When: Wednesday, Jan. 1, race starts at 11:25 a.m.
Where: The race begins and ends at Steam Pump Ranch (10901 N. Oracle Road).
Chip timing will be provided by G&J Race Timing.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Race fee: Early registration is $35 (by Dec. 18); Regular fee is $40 (Dec. 19 to race day). Children 12 and under race for free with paying adult. Swag items will be given to all participants.

Pre-Race Packet pickup: Pickup will be at Fleet Feet Oro Valley (7607 N Oracle Rd #121) on Tuesday, Dec. 31, from noon to 3 p.m. Race day number pickup and registration will be available starting at 9 a.m. at Steam Pump Ranch.

CHEERS CHALLENGE

Enter the Marana Egg Nog Jog AND the Oro Valley Hot Cocoa 5K to receive an exclusive Cheers Challenge finisher medal! Oro Valley and Marana have partnered to create a ‘Run Through the New Year’ run challenge. Participants over the age of 13 who register and complete both races will receive their Cheers Challenge medal on New Year’s Day at the conclusion of the Hot Cocoa 5K.
