ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (March 22, 2023) – The Town of Oro Valley is announcing road construction on Hardy Road between the Northern Avenue roundabout to Calle Loma Linda from March 27 – 31 to address erosion within the shoulder areas at the low flow water crossing of Carmack Wash. The section of road will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during construction. Please see road closure details below.
Road closure details
Hardy Road between the Northern Avenue roundabout to Calle Loma Linda will be closed March 27-31 during construction hours, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Outside of construction hours, Hardy Road will fully reopen in both directions with no changes to the speed limit; however, drivers are asked to use caution and pay attention to traffic control signage that will be in the area.
Project details
Stormwater runoff is eroding the pavement edge on Hardy Road as the runoff finds its way toward the Carmack Wash. Crews will stabilize the pavement edge with concrete cutoff walls and a defined drainage swale (a broad, shallow ditch that redirects water), to ensure runoff is managed and to minimize future maintenance needs on the road shoulders.
We appreciate your patience as we work to improve Hardy Road ahead of monsoon season.
