Dispose-A-Med Event

The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD), in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), SOBER Project, Meth Free Alliance, Oro Valley Optimist Club, Golder Ranch Fire District and Pima County Wastewater invite Oro Valley citizens, businesses, churches and schools to join us and share information regarding drug awareness in our community. Together we can explore possible solutions and preventative measures to make our community safe, healthy and drug free.

This includes veterinarian medications and vitamins. Please keep all pills in their original containers. All the work is done for you! Please do NOT bring batteries or household hazardous waste. You can drop off any medications and it is completely anonymous.

We will no longer be accepting metal or glass inhalation aerosol containers, syringes, epi-pens, gels, creams or liquid medications. ONLY pill and powder medications will be accepted. Medical businesses and doctors offices are not allowed to utilize this program for disposing medications.

All medications and bottles/labels are incinerated with the help of the DEA.

OVPD ONLY ACCEPTS MEDICATIONS DURING DISPOSE-A-MED EVENTS AT THE DESIGNATED EVENT LOCATION. DO NOT BRING MEDICATIONS TO THE MAIN STATION AS THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Call (520) 229-5080 or email CRU@orovalleyaz.gov to find out about upcoming events.
