TRAFFIC ALERT: Minor delays expected for event on March 8

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (March 4, 2026) – Drivers should expect minor delays and increased traffic control around Innovation Park Drive and Rancho Vistoso Boulevard on Sunday, March 8, 2026, for the Arizona Distance Classic Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K.

The event will take place in Oro Valley, with the half-marathon beginning at 6:30 a.m. and the quarter-marathon and 5K starting at 7:05 a.m. The race begins and ends at Roche Tissue Diagnostics, 1910 E. Innovation Park Drive, and follows out-and-back routes along Innovation Park Drive and Rancho Vistoso Boulevard. Click here for the course map.

Motorists traveling in the area Sunday morning should use caution, stay alert for runners, volunteers and law enforcement personnel, and allow extra travel time. Increased vehicle traffic is also expected near the start/finish area before the races begin.

Expect traffic delays along Tangerine Road, Innovation Market Drive, Rancho Vistoso Boulevard, and surrounding residential streets. Impacts will include full road closures at designated control points, restricted access to several neighborhoods, reduced travel lanes, and decreased speeds in the affected areas.

Drivers are urged to slow down, remain attentive along the route and obey all traffic control devices, posted signage and directions from officers and event personnel.
