ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (June 4, 2026) – The Town of Oro Valley celebrated the completion of major improvements to the Community and Recreation Center parking lot with a ribbon cutting on June 3, marking a project that delivered meaningful upgrades to safety and accessibility ahead of schedule and under budget.

Completed May 14, the $950,000 project improved the safety, accessibility and overall function of one of the community’s busiest facilities. The work, completed by contractor Pima Paving, included removal of the existing asphalt surface, grading repaving and restriping of the parking lot.

“These results reflect thoughtful planning, strong project management, outstanding coordination and a shared commitment to efficiency,” said Jeff Wilkins, Oro Valley Town Manager. “I want to thank the project team and Town staff for delivering such exceptional results on behalf of our residents.”

The project also produced added value through construction efficiencies, allowing the Town to create 18 additional parking spaces and three new ADA-accessible spaces, bringing the total to 385. The site now includes 20 ADA spaces located throughout the lot to better serve residents and visitors.

Funded through the Town’s Fiscal Year 2025-26 Capital Improvement Program and 10-year Capital Improvement Plan, the project reflects Oro Valley’s continued investment in safe, accessible and high-quality community amenities that support residents’ quality of life.
