ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (Jan. 4, 2024) – The Town of Oro Valley is thrilled to announce that the new entryway and elevator construction project at the Community and Recreation Center (CRC) is scheduled to begin the week of January 8, 2024.

This project creates for a new entrance to the Overlook Restaurant, Golf Pro Shop and other community rooms. The new entryway will be lowered several feet for enhanced accessibility and the elevator will be installed nearby. The project is anticipated to be completed by October 2024.

“We are committed to creating a space where everyone can fully participate in the many activities available at the CRC, and this elevator will make a much better user experience,” said Paul Keesler, Town of Oro Valley Public Works Director.

Barker Contracting, Inc., has been selected as the prime contractor for this project, and will begin mobilizing on Monday, Jan. 8, by installing construction fencing. The construction requires a temporary closure of the restaurant entrance.

While the Overlook Restaurant will remain open throughout the construction period, access will be temporarily rerouted to the ramp near the loading dock, Jan. 8 through Sept. 31. Wayfinding signage will be installed to direct visitors during construction. See the map graphic below for details.
