Wednesday afternoon storm update; OV hotels offer discounts to residents displaced by storms

According to the National Weather Service, the storm is tracking slightly east, but large volumes of rain can still be expected in the next 12 hours. • Town administrative offices, Oro Valley parks and Aquatic Center will close at 3 p.m. today.
• Tonight’s 6 p.m. Town Council Meeting has been cancelled.
• Thursday night’s Stormwater Utility Commission meeting has been cancelled.

In preparation for the storm, the Town of Oro Valley has partnered with Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites and Red Lion Inn & Suites Tucson North – Foothills to provide rooms at discounted rates for residents in the event there is an emergency and an evacuation is required.
