Town of Oro Valley's Hands-Free Ordinance Sign Installation

June 28, 2017

On January 6, 2017, the Town of Oro Valley adopted a “hands-free” ordinance, restricting drivers from holding a mobile telephone or portable electronic device while operating a motor vehicle.  The Oro Valley Engineering Division is working in partnership with OVPD to install 19 new signs around the Town to remind motorists of the hands-free ordinance. These signs and their locations were selected in order to maximize visibility while being mindful of aesthetics.  Instillation of the signs will begin in mid-July with completion expected to be by the end of July.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for driving safely by minimizing distractions.
