Planning & Zoning to consider Zoning Code Text Amendments on Dec. 3

The Town of Oro Valley’s Planning and Zoning Commission will be considering Zoning Code Text Amendments to the Commercial-1 (C-1), Commercial -2 (C-2), Tech-Park zoning districts and the Economic Expansion Zone, as mentioned below at the Commission’s next meeting on Tuesday, December 3 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are open to the public.

If you would like to make a public comment, you can do so at the meeting or you can submit a comment via email to Milini Simms at msimms@orovalleyaz.gov. Comments received before 3 p.m. on December 3 will be forwarded to the Commission ahead of the 6 p.m. meeting.

  • Zoning Code Text Amendments to revise Section 23, Section 25, Section 27 and other applicable sections of the Oro Valley Zoning Code Revised (OVZCR), the Rancho Vistoso Planned Area Development and the La Reserve Planned Area Development to amend the following elements in the Commercial-1 (C-1), Commercial-2 (C-2) and Technological Park (T-P) zoning districts: 1) Allow low-impact employment uses in commercial (C-1 and C-2) zones; 2) Update and revise the uses permitted in Tech-Park zones for consistency; 3) Increase the building height for Tech-Park zones only; 4) Revise the setback and scenic corridor standards in Tech-Park zones for consistency with commercial zoning standards; 5) Allow flexibility for when an odor abatement plan is required.   • Zoning Code Text Amendments to revise Section 22.10, Section 24.9 and other applicable sections of the Oro Valley Zoning Code Revised (OVZCR) to amend the following for sites in the Economic Expansion Zone: 1) Permit shovel-ready sites; 2) Allow administrative approval of code compliant sign criteria; 3) Require an open-house for Tech-Park sites abutting residential areas; 4) Remove inefficiencies within the approval process.
