OV to cut the ribbon on Big Wash Trailhead Dec. 9

On Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 8:30 a.m., the Town of Oro Valley will celebrate the opening of the Big Wash Trailhead and Trail with a ribbon cutting and inaugural activities. Detailed directions to the trailhead can be found at

Following the ceremony, mountain bikers and hikers are invited to participate in the inaugural ride at approximately 9 a.m., and the inaugural hike at 9:10 a.m.

The new trailhead and 1.3 mile trail segment provide access to the popular Tortolita Mountain Regional Park trail system and the Arizona state trust land network of trails. Additionally, Big Wash Trail is also part of Pima County’s 180-mile Tribute Trail Loop.

The Town would like to thank the following agencies and groups for their support and partnership in land dedication, planning and trail construction:
