Monsoon ready: Free sandbags available for Oro Valley residents

July 9, 2018

While the Oro Valley Stormwater Utility continues to be proactive in managing washes and addressing potential flood issues, the Town of Oro Valley will still be providing free sandbags for residents who may need to protect areas of their homes from storm runoff. Sandbags can be picked up beginning Monday, July 9, through the duration of the 2018 monsoon season. Due to a limited number of supplies, only Town residents are eligible, and there is a limit of 10 sandbags per vehicle.

Sandbags are self-service. You will need to bag and load your own sand. Please bring a shovel. The pickup location is at Naranja Park, 810 W. Naranja Drive, in the area known locally as the “Christmas tree recycling lot,” just north of the archery range, on the east side of the road.

Residents who require assistance may make an appointment with Town Staff to pick up pre-bagged sand at a designated time. To book your appointment, or for any questions, please contact Constituent Services Coordinator Jessica Hynd at 520-229-4711 or by email at
