Find your holiday fun in Oro Valley!

The Town of Oro Valley invites the public to join in the 2018 holiday fun at several special events. Whatever your age or interest, there’s something festive for everyone!

19th Annual Oro Valley Festival of the Arts and Tree Lighting Celebration | FREE EVENT

The Oro Valley Holiday Festival of the Arts has grown to become one of the largest holiday themed celebrations in the region. Featuring up to 150 artists at the festival, the event draws artisans from around the country in a diverse range of mediums including sculpture, photography, painting, jewelry, functional art, stone, home décor, metal art and so much more.

The weekend’s highlight is when we light up a 35-foot holiday tree on Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in the Oro Valley Marketplace central plaza, located on the southwest corner of Oracle and Tangerine. On Saturday, from 3 to 6 p.m., enjoy pictures with Santa, hot chocolate and cookie decorating, interactive arts experiences and activities and live musical performances from local groups.

Tohono Chul’s Holiday Nights: A Million Lights

Holiday Nights are fun for everyone! Stroll along paths garlanded with over a million twinkling lights while musicians and artists perform throughout the gardens. Who can resist a sing-along or viewing the stars through a telescope? You’re sure to enjoy the many distinct performances located throughout the gardens while you sip hot chocolate and enjoy tasty treats!

Fifth Annual Hot Cocoa 5K Run/Walk

Entry fee: $20 before race day, $25 on race day
Join the Town of Oro Valley as we kick off 2019 with the fifth annual Hot Cocoa 5k run/walk on Tuesday, January 1! The race will take place along the multi-use path, beginning at Steam Pump Ranch, and will include snacks, water, and of course, hot cocoa. This is a professionally-timed race, and prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners and five-year age group categories. It's a fun way to start your New Year's resolutions with the entire family.

T-shirts will be available for sale. Children 12 and under race for free with paying adult. Proceeds will benefit Oro Valley’s Round Up for Youth Recreation Scholarship Program.

Race number pickup and race registration are available on Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fleet Feet Oro Valley, 7607 N. Oracle Road #121.

New for 2019!  A special prize will be given to runners and walkers who complete the 5k double on New Year’s Day 2019 – the 12th annual Egg Nog Jog in Marana (starts at 9:19 a.m.) and the 5th annual Hot Cocoa 5k in Oro Valley (starts at 11:19 a.m.). For info on the Egg Nog Jog, please visit
