Deputy Chief LeSuer Named Interim Chief

Effective March 1, 2017, Deputy Chief Aaron LeSuer will be assigned as the Interim Chief of Police for the Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD). Chief LeSuer has been with OVPD for over 28 years and during that time has held a wide variety of assignments to include: patrol, undercover narcotics, DUI, SWAT, academy counselor, and Lead Police Officer.

Chief LeSuer was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1999 and then to lieutenant in 2005.  In September 2007, Chief LeSuer was assigned as the Support Services Commander managing Communications, Records, Fleet, Criminal Investigations Unit, School Resource Officers, Task Force Assignments and Community Resources.

Chief Sharp is currently the Interim Town Manager for the Town of Oro Valley. Chief Sharp stated, “Deputy Chief LeSuer has supervised and managed all aspects of the OVPD. He is extremely knowledgeable and is an asset to this agency and to our community.”
