AZGOHS Provides OVPD with Grant Funding to Combat DUI and Speeding

May 3, 2019

The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD), through financial support by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (AZGOHS), has received $30,000 in overtime funding for fiscal year 2019 to support driving under the influence enforcement and participation with the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force. OVPD is committed to eliminating crimes involving the abuse of drugs and alcohol in our community, as well as preventing unnecessary injury and fatalities due to speed related collisions, reckless driving behavior and inattention. We would like to thank AZGOHS Director, Alberto Gutier and his staff for their continued partnership and support toward this effort. If you have any questions about this release or traffic related issues in Oro Valley, please contact Lt. John Teachout at 229-4923.
