Save-A-Plant Program

Photo of three people and rescued barrel cactus

The Save-A-Plant program encourages the preservation of our unique Sonoran Desert environment, through the salvage of Native Plants and re-creation of natural desert landscaping when they are re-planted.

The Program is designed to compliment the Town of Oro Valley’s Native Plant Preservation Ordinance, by encouraging donations by landowners and developers, and salvage by volunteers of native plants that would otherwise be destroyed. The Save-A-Plant Program creates a win-win situation where landowners, developers, volunteers and the Town of Oro Valley can work together with the common purpose of preserving Arizona’s native plants.
