Information Technology Unit

The Information Technology Unit (ITU) is a support service of the Department and is responsible for planning, acquiring, implementing and developing information technology solutions to facilitate the Department's mission.  In addition, ITU evaluates and acquires emerging technologies, information systems and networks that have law enforcement applications.

ITU supports and maintains the critical systems such as: Computer Aided Dispatch consoles, software and equipment, public safety radio systems, Mobile Data Computers (MDC), Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) systems, records management database systems and computerized systems that store crime scene digital images and evidence tracking (DIMS). ITU maintains the multiple HVAC units within the police facility. In addition to critical technology, the ITU maintains our day-to-day computing equipment (desktops) and business machines and keeps all licensing and servers operational.
