Historic Preservation and Cultural Resources

The purpose of Oro Valley's Historic Preservation Program is to facilitate public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Town’s historic past, promote better awareness of its architectural and cultural history, and foster civic and neighborhood pride so that future generations will have the opportunity to appreciate and understand Oro Valley's unique cultural heritage.

Oro Valley's efforts to preserve its history is documented each year in an annual report.

The Historic Preservation Commission provides the historic perspective and review for the Town of Oro Valley and meets monthly to provide input and direction. The Oro Valley Historic Preservation Commission sponsors the annual William H. Adler Historic Essay Writing Contest.
