Naranja Park's Field 3 and 4 Closed through Beginning of July to Grow Bermuda Grass

May 11, 2018

Naranja Park’s Field 3 and 4 will be closed through the beginning of July to sprig the hybrid Bermuda grass. In the fall of 2017 the fields were seeded with winter rye. With the temperatures rising, this is the optimal time of year to grow this grass, which thrives once temperatures reach above 90 degrees. The Bermuda grass will serve as a strong base for the fields, actively growing May – September and going dormant October – April. The fields will reopen just in time for our July 4 Celebration at Naranja Park as we invite all of the community to come enjoy them!
