Shop OV Spotlight: Sunline Design

Sunline Design shop owner Diana Ditmanson with hanging necklaces

Influenced by her father, native Tucsonan Diana Ditmanson developed “a real love” for minerals and gemstones. The Southwest’s iconic turquoise, in particular, captured her fancy.

That affinity became a career. For years, she’s been making one-of-a-kind jewelry and building relationships at Sunline Design in the Catalina Foothills.

A year ago, the 17-year businesswoman moved Sunline Design from Swan and Sunrise to Lambert and La Canada in Oro Valley. It’s a shorter commute for the Oro Valley resident, and a chance to create a whole new clientele.

You’re invited.

"You may never, ever see an item you find here, because it’s hand-made," said Diana, who makes jewelry when she’s got the time. "This is my joy," maximized when she creates something special just for you.

There’s an artist’s vibe to Sunline Design, with its contemporary and unique sterling silver and gemstone jewelry, fine jewelry, custom work, repairs, whimsical gifts and cards, accessories and copper art. Earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants and rings, at every price point, are organic, earthy and beautifully presented. She does repairs, too.

Diana values 1-on-1 relationships with people who come to her for "excellent customer service. If you want to be treated with the utmost care, this is the place," she said.

She believes Oro Valley is the place as well for local people to open and run businesses. "A couple of us experiencing some success will encourage others to come in," Diana believes.

Sunline Design is located on the southwest – of course! – corner of Lambert and La Canada, right next door to Breadsmith.
