Oro Valley to host free Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Nov. 17

The Town of Oro Valley invites Oro Valley residents to drop off their household hazardous waste to be safely recycled, reused, or properly disposed of on Saturday, November 17, from 8 a.m. to noon (or until trucks are full) at the Oro Valley Marketplace, 11785 N. Oracle Rd. See list of materials that can and cannot be accepted below.

This is a unique (and FREE!) opportunity for Oro Valley residents, and is not open to commercial customers. Household hazardous waste facilities and outreach sites do not accept hazardous materials from commercial customers. This event is for Oro Valley residents only, please. Be sure to arrive early, as the collection event will end when the trucks are full.

• Automotive fluids
• Engine oil filters
• Auto batteries
• Rechargeable batteries (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-ion, Pb)
• Small button batteries
• Lithium batteries
• Cleaning products
• Drain openers
• Cooking oil
• Mercury containing products
• Fluorescent lamps
• Paint products
• Solvents
• Hobby chemicals
• Pesticides
• Lawn and garden products
• Pool chemicals
• Propane cylinders
• Computer equipment (Cathode Ray Tube [CRT] monitors are not accepted.)
• Printer cartridges
• Items labeled: Acid, Flammable, Caustic, Poison, Caution, Toxic, Danger or Warning

Items NOT accepted:
• Business or commercial wastes
• Commercial gas cylinders
• Infectious and radioactive waste
• Medical waste such as sharps, syringes or old medications
• Televisions and CRT monitors
