  • October 24, 2014 - Postponement of November 3rd Planning and Zoning Commission meeting to November 20th

    Regarding: La Cholla and Naranja Northwest and Southwest Major General Plan Amendments (OV 1114-002 and OV 1114-003)

    The previously scheduled Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on November 3rd will be postponed until Thursday, November 20th.  The purpose for the postponement is to allow additional time for the applicant to amend the application in light of resident input at the October 20th Neighborhood Meeting and further to allow residents ample time to review the amended application (once resubmitted) prior to the public hearing. It is anticipated that the applicant’s revised submittal will be available on the Town’s website on Tuesday, November 4th.

    The November 20th Planning and Zoning Commission meeting will be held at 6:00 PM in the Town Council Chambers, 11000 N. La Canada Drive.  Should you have any question in this regard, please contact Chad Daines at (520) 229-4896 or cdaines@orovalleyaz.gov.
     

  • October 6, 2014 - Withdrawal of Shannon Road south of Ironwood Ridge High School Major General Plan Amendment (OV1114-001)

    The proposed Major General Plan Amendment for a site on Shannon Road - south of Ironwood Ridge High School (OV1114-001) has been withdrawn by the applicant and will not be heard at the October 20th, 2014, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting or any other upcoming public hearings. Division Overview
The Planning division administers the General Plan and Zoning Code for the harmonious growth of the Town. The division is responsible for providing planning and zoning services to the Community, Town Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, Conceptual Design Review Board, Board of Adjustment, and project teams.  The division's Work Plan for the next two years will focus on updates to the sign code, zoning code, general plan and associated guidelines and standards.

Planning Program Overview
The primary function of the Planning program is to assure the proper implementation of adopted plans, policies and standards. Planning provides direction and support for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Conceptual Design Review Board, and Board of Adjustment. The planning team coordinates the review of development projects by various Town departments and divisions as well as external review agencies. Planning also prepares and analyzes amendments to the General Plan, Zoning Code, Planned Area Developments, and rezoning cases. Staff develops recommendations to promote the aesthetic, organized growth and development of the Town, and is responsible for the Citizen's Planning Institute.
