Vote for Your Favorite Business Decoration
This holiday season, the Town of Oro Valley would like to encourage you to Shop OV – and have some fun while doing it!
We’re calling on our business community to get out their holiday spirit and join us for a business decorating contest to be decided by our residents. Beginning December 4, Oro Valley shoppers will have a chance to enjoy decorations at our participating businesses and vote for the best one! The contest will run the month of December, with the winning business will be selected in early January.
A list of participating businesses will be announced at the Oro Valley Holiday Celebration December 4, and will also be available online, along with the voting form. The winning business will receive free advertising in both the Explorer and Arizona Daily Star’s Northwest section.
Voting is now closed. Thank you for participating!

Holiday Message From the Mayor
‘Tis the season to remember family, friends and those who are close to us – and perhaps far away, fighting for our country. Whatever the circumstances in your own lives, we hope that you will give thanks for all of the wonderful things in your lives.
We hope, too, that you’ll come and celebrate Oro Valley’s holiday tradition, the Giving Tree lighting ceremony. After nearly 10 years and continue growth in our attendance at the event, we are pleased to be able to move this annual tradition to the Town’s historic jewel, Steam Pump Ranch. With the additional space, we’re able to extend our holiday celebration to two days, and our staff has put together a host of fun-filled activities for families of all ages! I hope to see you all there December 4 & 5.

We are also honored to host the Capitol Christmas Tree on November 13 as it makes its way around our state before heading off to Washington, D.C., where it will make history as the tallest tree in the nearly 50-year tradition. We would like to thank Vestar, Walmart, the Wingate Hotel and all of the individuals who worked together to provide our community with this exciting celebration to kick off our holiday season.
And finally, this is the fifth anniversary for the Oro Valley parade, which will make its way down Naranja Boulevard on Saturday, December 12. Much thanks to Jackie Devery and her volunteers who do such a terrific job with this event every year.
On behalf of the Town Council and staff, I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
Cheers!
Paul Loomis
Mayor
