Biography:
A Tucson native and graduate of the University of Arizona Barry has been an Oro Valley resident since 1985. Barry has spent many years in service to Oro Valley and is proud of his contributions to the quality community that we all enjoy. Barry has served Oro Valley in many capacities, including many years on the Planning and Zoning Commission, as Vice Chairman of the original Development Impact Fee Committee and as educational liaison to our school districts. Barry is dedicated to moving Oro Valley forward with continued emphasis on quality development standards. He is also focused on the establishment of a sound economic base, strategic planning, setting the stage for digital government and public safety. Barry believes in giving back to his community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for World Care (http://www.worldcare.org). Barry has also contributed to the CDO Site Council and worked as a coach and manager for local youth soccer baseball organizations. Barry’s wife of twenty-four years is Jennifer, an administrator for the City of Tucson. They share their home with three adopted greyhounds and one intrepid cat. Barry is presently Director of Development Services for Information Technology at Pima Community College. Prior to that, he served as Principal Planner and Information Technology Administrator for Pima County Development Services and was a pioneer in advocating for Geographic Information Systems development for Pima County and the region. Barry has been involved in a variety of exciting endeavors including water quality studies while living at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and a stint as a Hot Shot firefighter for the US Forest Service. Barry enjoys running, the outdoors, home improvement projects and learning to dance the Argentine Tango. He is available for appointments on evenings excluding Thursday and he will accept appointments on Saturday morning.
