PRELIMINARY UNOFFICIAL PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS

MARCH 9, 2010 PRIMARY ELECTION


Total ballots counted as of 3/10/10: 10,852 - 41.3% of registered voters

In order to be elected at the Primary Election, a candidate must receive a majority of total ballots cast.  Using the preliminary unofficial results, the number of votes necessary to be elected is 5,427.   A run-off election will be held on May 18th. The number of candidates who compete in a run-off is equal to the number of vacant seats times 2. The following candidates will compete in the run-off election:

Zinkin, Mike

Councilmembers (2 vacant seats to be filled):
Emmons, Donald
Hornat, Joe
Rabb, Matthew
Waters, Lou

New Mayor and Council will take office June 2, 2010.

Due to the State calling a Special Election for May 18th, Oro Valley's election will be conducted as a polling place election; therefore, Oro Valley voters will NOT automatically receive their ballot in the mail unless they are on the Pima County permanent early voting list.
